Farmers need extra support to deal with double crisis

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has called for extra support for farmers as they attempt to cope with a ‘cost-of-doing-business crisis’ on top of the cost-of-living crisis. The Lib Dem MP also warned about impact on farmers’ mental health, emphasising “that there's a human cost as well as a financial one for those working hard to keep Britain fed”.

Emergency care moving from ‘crisis to calamity’ as alert level raised

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has warned that ambulance and A&E care is moving from “crisis to calamity” as hospital handover delays reach their worst ever levels. West Midlands Ambulance Service and the nine other ambulance trusts in England are reported to be in critical incidents and have moved to the highest possible alert level this week due to the extreme pressure they are facing.

Helen Morgan, MP for North Shropshire, has responded to a nationwide poll showing 61% of people are worried about dangerously long waits for A&E and ambulances. Helen said, “It’s completely understandable that people are worried about ambulance and A&E waits, which are indeed dangerously long here in Shropshire."

North Shropshire MP demands new Health Secretary act on ambulance crisis

North Shropshire’s MP demanded the new Health Secretary make fixing the ambulance crisis his number one priority as MPs from across the political divide highlighted the broken system in a debate in Parliament. Helen Morgan described the scale of ambulance delays as “absolutely shocking” as she highlighted the case of an 85-year-old woman with dementia who had to wait 18 hours.
