North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has warned that ambulance and A&E care is moving from “crisis to calamity” as hospital handover delays reach their worst ever levels. West Midlands Ambulance Service and the nine other ambulance trusts in England are reported to be in critical incidents and have moved to the highest possible alert level this week due to the extreme pressure they are facing.
MP Helen Morgan praised “wonderful” carers for their selfless work as she met residents and staff at a home for exploitation victims in Shropshire. The North Shropshire MP visited Serene House where she joined residents, workers and local stakeholders who support the home for afternoon tea.
Helen Morgan, MP for North Shropshire, has responded to a nationwide poll showing 61% of people are worried about dangerously long waits for A&E and ambulances. Helen said, “It’s completely understandable that people are worried about ambulance and A&E waits, which are indeed dangerously long here in Shropshire."
MP Helen Morgan has promised to force rural areas like North Shropshire to the front of the Levelling Up agenda after being named the new Liberal Democrat spokesperson for the issue.

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has formally supported a bid to bring step-free access to Whitchurch Railway Station. The MP and fellow Liberal Democrats in the area have long campaigned for the layout of the station to be changed to ensure that people with disabilities and mobility issues can reach both platforms.
