Make Whitchurch Station accessible

Helen Morgan at Whitchurch Station

Helen Morgan is campaigning to make Whitchurch Station fully accessible as soon as possible.

Anyone currently wishing to use Platform 1 at the station has to negotiate two flights of stairs with 44 steps. People with disabilities and those with mobility issues who cannot use the stairs are unable to use services leaving from or arriving at Platform 1. People with pushchairs and luggage also struggle to use Platform 1.

Transport for Wales has made a bid with Network Rail for funding under the Access for All scheme to make the station accessible. However, the process is taking too long. Helen Morgan is calling for more urgency, otherwise it could be several years before work is undertaken.
