Helen calls for answers over abandoned trailers

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has called for answers after trailers were left abandoned for months next to busy Shropshire roads before a suspected arson attack this week.
Lorry trailers full of waste were dumped next to the A53 and A41 near Market Drayton last year and remained in place for months despite investigations by the police and the Environment Agency having concluded some time ago.
This week one of the trailers, on the A41, was involved in a serious blaze which shut the key road on Wednesday evening.
MP Helen Morgan has now called for a full explanation of why the trailers were not removed earlier.
Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire, said, “These trailers should have been moved months ago.
“Residents and I have been complaining about the situation since last year but the waste-filled eyesore trailers were left in place, even after investigations were concluded.
“Local people deserve a full explanation as to why their repeated complaints were ignored and the trailers were not moved much earlier.”
