Many households across Shropshire are not getting their energy bill discount or alternative fuels payment automatically. This page explains what they are and how to apply.
All households in England and Wales are eligible for a £400 energy bill discount as part of the Energy Bill Support Scheme. Most Shropshire households will have had their £400 discount applied automatically via their electricity bills.
However, there are many households across Shropshire that need to apply manually for their £400 discount because they do not have a direct account with their electricity company, e.g. Park Homes' residents, houseboat residents and tenants who have a communal electricity supply or whose landlords have a business energy connection.
See How To Apply below.

If you are not receiving one or both of your payments automatically, you need to apply manually. You do not need to be on a low income or in receipt of benefits to apply.
If you know of someone who needs to apply but does not have online access, please ask them to call the free helpline on 0808 175 3287.
The deadline for applying is 31st May 2023.
