Helen's Banking Hub Campaign

Years of bank branch closures have left thousands of North Shropshire residents without access to banking services.
North Shropshire has five market towns, however, only Oswestry has any commercial bank branches left. Whitchurch and Market Drayton now benefit from banking hubs, which provide shared banking services, following the last bank branches being closed down in those towns.
Other North Shropshire towns such as Ellesmere and Wem, which have no bank branches left, have not had banking hubs agreed by LINK, the organisation that runs most of the country’s banking hubs.
***UPDATE***
Great News: LINK has now agreed to a Banking Hub in Wem following the campaign by Helen and Wem residents.
However, Helen is still campaigning for a Banking Hub in Ellesmere. Please sign the petition below.

Nationally, banking hubs have been transformative in rural areas. They’ve been shown to increase local footfall, boost small‑business takings and provide a lifeline for people who can’t bank digitally or travel long distances.
Helen is fighting to have a banking hub set up in Ellesmere. She believes it’s essential that residents and small businesses have the banking services they need.
You can watch a video of Helen explaining the situation here.
If you agree with Helen that Ellesmere needs a banking hub, please sign her petition below to help convince LINK.
Helen's Banking Hub Petition
"I agree with Helen Morgan that Ellesmere, where all bank branches have closed down, should have a banking hub set up so that residents and small businesses can access the banking services and support they need."
